The pain sneaks up on you like a thief in the night.
Anger fills your body, making you lose sight
Of whatís wrong and whatís right.
Leaving you lost, confused and oh so weak.
You want to express how you feel but you find it hard to speak.
All you know is that you want this feeling to disappear.
Like water that evaporates into thin air.
You keep yourself busy so you canít remember,
but no matter what you do the pain is still there.
Throbbing, clutching
Trying to squeeze the life out of you
It seems the harder you try to shake it the more painful it is
But I must keep on keeping on to make it through
Taking it all in stride
Pushing guiltiness and fear aside
Looking the pain right in the eyes
Saying you will not take me down, for I shall rise.
Like the sun
Keeping a positive insight
Using good memories of you to win this fight
Between giving up and moving on.
Counting my blessings as a guide to finding my way home.
To peace and dealing with the fact that you are in a better place.
So I will get my shit together and wipe the tears from my face.
I will stand up and live my life the best way I see fit.
Cherishing every special moment and enjoying every single minute.
