As I Walk On By

by Lisa Gardenia

As I look back over my life I see the woman I've become:
I could cut you up with a knife, or I could birth your newborn son.
All I need is understanding, a little peace, and some harmony.
Where were you when I was crying? (You weren't where you were supposed to be)...
I loved you for sure, honey.
Don't love you no more, money;
You'll never ever see that side of me again,
So take a real good look now baby,
As I walk on by.
I'm still pressing rewind, my mind's cluttered,
All I think of is you.
I reflect, way back, on a time: simple, precious, and love was true.
I had to marinate on the fact you didn't feel me like I felt you.
I guess it's just as well, you can go to hell (I got a lot of things to do)...
I loved you for sure, honey.
Don't love you no more, money;
You'll never ever see that side of me again,
So take a real good look now baby,
As I walk on by.
