The Other Girl

by Marvia Franklin

Thinking lately about us
And all the things that we do
Wishing some things were different
Can't imagine my life without you

Don't want to push you away
Know I agreed to give you your space
You've already laid out the rules
No reason for me to try and change pace

Still I can't help but wonder
What you and your other girl do
Do you laugh and joke, get silly and stuff
Do you kiss and make love to her too

Do you tell her she's sexy, or one of a kind
Or is that just reserved for me
Do you tell her your secrets and fantasies
Does she think she is all that you need

Do you open her door when it rains
Hold her close all thorough the night
Do you kiss away her tears when she cries
Tell her everthing will work out right

Wish I could tell you I love you
Cherish all the time that we spend
Can see myself with you for life
Dread this moment, cause now it has to end

Couldn't keep myself on hold for long
Can see now this doesn't just affect my world
Maybe in time you'll come to realize
I just got tired of being "The Other Girl"
