the sky i saw on yesterday
was one that i had never seen
it illustrated the way i feel;
down deep inside
and it made my soul relieved

the entire day had been quite cloudy
ending with a downcast evening sky
but then i looked toward heaven;
and realized
the beauty of God's skyline

the darkness of the clouds
overshadowed the presence of a sunny blue day
at the same time as the sun was setting 
a tiny opening appeared

through the clouds i could see a ray of sun
illuminating the celestial horizon;
then i smiled to myself;
and focused
on the beauty of that day in Sweet November

reflecting back on that day
made me satisfied in knowing,
that no matter how dark
the sky may seem
there is a ray of sunshine 
that can always break free
