Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

by L.C. Johnson

How can I be back
When I never even left
Truthfully speaking
I try to separate from the rest
I'm turning boys to men
Some of ya'll won't comprehend
When you mentally mature
And no longer want to sin
See when you chase woman
It's like a sweet venom
When you interracially date
You're open for criticism
Just do what you do
Let them say what they say
Live your life
And let the chips fall where they may
It's hard enough to find happiness
Trying to survive
So why limit yourself
With a racial divide
What people don't understand
People will criticize
Full of stereotypical views
That's usually full of lies
Every race is the same
You got your good and bad
The ignorance in society
Is really quite sad
If I die don't cry
Because I'm not happy here
We only have a lifetime
Not hundreds of years
It makes no sense to hate
Just time you waste
We need to change our way of thinking
Before it's too late
