A Man In The Sand...

by L. Braddy

I once knew a man,who had to hide in the sand.
To keep his dream alive...Fight! Fight!
You have to pray every night.
Just to remember what's real...
Yet he could still feel...
Her in his arms, his baby boys charm...
The little girl he left behind....
All was still clear in his mind.
Those memories is what kept him alive...
Boom! Bam! Here comes the showers...
The Master at home yet in the desert, no power!
Will this be his last thoughts, his final hour?
Sleep wearing him down and ready to throw in the towel...
His mind snaps back to fate!
Death comes so close he can anticipate...
He took a vow, to love his wife,
Through heartache and strife.
To teach his little girl
she's worth all the money in the world...
His son how to be a man,
and with Gods help he'd do all he can.
A promise to come home and make up the time...
In church, through friends and enemies to let his light shine.
Stay Awake Gods Child Stay Alive!
Your Time is a prayer away, so don't get side whined.
Cover yourself in trust and just know...
The scorpions, the heat and the fire showers will soon go.
Take ahold of the sand beneath your hands...
Know that for you, this is not God's Plan...
Run!and put on your Helmet of Faith,
that Breastplate of Righteousness and confess your sins...
The Battle you started, you've already finished within...
Welcome Home Soldier.

*******
This is dedicated to the one and only Mr. Braddy
whom I admire along with millions of other soldiers serving or country...
Foremost thanks to my Heavenly Father that gave me so much strength
during these days. I pray, the military spouses stay strong...
and keep prayer daily in their lives.
