A Promise To Die For

by Jonathan Love

Imagine you were in this place where promises are made to be kept

A lie told was death

A poor man's promise was a rich man's wealth

Today it goes on without imagination

In real life I've seen this deck of cards get dealt

I'm feeling the feelings that's already been felt

Not only today but all of the tomorrows

will show forth our dedications to this so called death

People often but sometimes seemingly die because of their health

Others often but sometimes seemingly die because of their wealth

Due to this promise that was not kept

I made a promise to myself not to be like no one else

So if and when I die it will be my death

Because of a promise I made to myself

Underminding my wealth to take care of my own without the help

Of somebody's promise that was not kept

This is a promise I made to myself to die for
