I Wish I Had Wings

by Jonathan Love

As often as the wings of a bird spreads is

as often as the bird can fly

As large as the sky may seem to us is as open as the closed eye
I wish I had wings to fly I'd find the largest tree

I'd take a leave of absence from
everything, when I say everything,I mean everything

I'd stay in the sky flying the highest I could fly

Soaring back and forth, forth and back
until I reached the highest of the high

You would never see me on land only if I'd die

For the wings that I don't have will be left in the sky
