Pulling Your Chain

by J. Griot

Listen,
I know I'm not the best,
And respect goes to the rest
But I'm also not worst
Because I pass most any test
I must confess,
I'm confident;
My arguement is sound
They're using white supremacy
To keep my people down
In a world gone mad,
Where craziness is common,
Your strings are getting pulled
And you ask if there's a probelm?
Sho' you right!
Mis-Education flowing like a faucet
You memorized some lies
And you're happy you were taught it
Is that equality?
Yes;
Because no one's taught the Truth
We all are different fruits
But we all are getting juiced
Like sour grapes,
Fermented;
Now your mind's intoxicated
Swearing you have culture
Just because your hair is braided,
Or faded,
With a nappy afro on the top
But are you dropping science,
Or is science what you dropped?
You went pop;
This is pow;
It hits you like a punch
Recite this at the table
Have some knowledge with your lunch
It used to be a noose
With the strings around your neck;
Today you say you're free,
But see,
A puppet stays in check
Listen,
Even Pinocchio became a real boy
But you're not a real man
If they play you like a toy
