Temptation

by Jeanarre M. Davis

"Try summa this here sweetie pie, I know you'll like it."

Like you know me
My workings
How my mind, body, and soul flows
How I come and I go
To greater distances
And greater heights
As I move on this journey of life
I'll hear you say

Try summa this here sweetie pie, I know you'll like it."

No just don't work for you
I can't blame you
It ain't my thang either
I'd rather do me
Live free
Live in peace
Without all the hype
And the conflict
Better be quick
Can't trust nobody
A kind face is the devil's sanctuary
I was warned to be wary
Of those like you
Liars
Cheaters
Unjust
Cruel intenders
And regret givers
Committing deeds worse than sin
Immoral
Or Immortal kin
Sister
Brother
Mother
Father
Cousin
Don't matter where you lie
On the blood line
You'll still say...

"Try summa this here sweetie pie, I know you'll like it."
