Lost in Slavery

by John D. Evans

Still unsure of who we are

And where we come from

Disconnected from the truth

Wrapped in lies

Though unknowing

Dressed in discontent

In need of the answers

With no ask of questions

Slightly disinterested

In roads that led to the present

Just living and breathing

Funning

Though barely alive

Lost

Losing esteem

Losing honor

Losing pride

Losing time

No longer living

Still unsure

Still disconnected

Still wrapped

In slavery
