Delicate Dance

by John D. Evans

Every day we rise, we dance

And dance a delicate dance

Flesh and spirit intermingle

They marry to make us

We dance a delicate dance

A fine line is what it is

The line between good and bad

A step away from right and wrong

This we all have in common

A fine line is what it is

Uninterrupted and never still

We are moving as we breathe

As we eat, sleep, and do anything

Holding on and letting things go

Uninterrupted and never still

When the last song is played

And our flesh takes a final rest

Our spirit and legacy remain strong

Our gifts will grace the ages

When the last song is played

Every day we rise, we dance

And dance a delicate dance

Flesh and spirit intermingle

They marry to make us

We dance a delicate dance
