You Be Quiet

by John D. Evans

Someone told me to be quiet

To wait until I put more time in

To do whatever asked and say little

To find a secret hiding place to escape

Someone told me that I should remain quiet

But I refuse

The noises that I have to make must be heard

The music in my veins must be explored

The release of energy once stored

The poetry housed within

Unable to be quiet

I must refuse
