If It's Not an Issue...

by Jackie Williams

To: The Living Dead If color is not an issue Why does it create fissures? Cracks & crevices in the system That engulf the souls of our youths With a spin & a twist….we’re on the news Poor & uneducated….misguided as a rule Spouting attitude & creating fear Throw the book at them…….who’ll shed a tear? If color is not an issue Why are riches abound under Nubian feet Where babies are dying …they have nothing to eat The norm or the rule & world turn it’s head Genocide & ethnic cleansing No sanctions….nothing said No one comes to the rescue Frail structures like the living dead If color is not an issue For humanity sakes….the world over Why aren’t darker people fed? If color is not an issue No pity…….that’s the deal No wealth or moral high ground Only God can heal The hatred in humanity Sensitivity grows duller & duller It’s not a matter of inferiority It’s only an issue of color!
