Can you hear it?
the sound of my heart pounding
as you walk out the door
the sound of tears falling
from my eyes onto the floor
Can feel it?
a flame flickering in my soul
for each second I’m without you
the tossing and turning of my body
for every dream that is about you
Can you taste it?
the lingering of the last kiss
that I placed upon your lips
the sweetness of those very lips
pressed against my fingertips
Can you touch it?
the image of my silhouette dancing in your head
visions of us making intellectual love
as we lie awake in bed
Can you see it?
the possibility of you holding me once again
the chance of us returning to the way things were back then
you standing next to me after all chips have fallen
and push comes to shove
But until then I’ll remain here, in my solitude
lost in the 5 senses of love
