Not Another Statistic

by Machell Hegler

Hell Naw, I ain't letting him go
You should've thought of that before
I spread my legs and opened wide
How you were so eager to jump inside
Didn't think about it then,
Cause, hell, we both was grown
So now be a man and take care of your own
You ain't takin me to no clinic
I won't be another statistic
Not in that way
I'll be a single mother on assistance
I'll pay alone for your persistance
And nigga, I won't beg you for no help
Cuz how many promises have you kept?
And the bad part about it is I was in love
Thought God had blessed me with a man from heaven above
Looking past my mind and dealt directly with my heart
And guess I should've known you was trouble from the start
And even though the world is so damn wild
I still can't figure out how someone who claims manhood
could want to kill his child.
