Be.

Be.

Before barricades of the body
Become the bars that hold my brethren
Be first to breathe the breath that which is freedom
Brothers branding our beauties as bitches
Berate, beat their brides and burn britches
Bridges bypassed, often too bold to look back
But brick-hard enough to shout out, "Proud to be BLACK!"
Be still. Truth. Black is an un-Breakable bond.
But at times we must just be proud to simply Be.
Because once blood is spilt its all a bright burgundy
Boulevards in urban blocks stained with bloodshed
Bloodless Beast best our seeds and bleed them out
until the beyond is dark and red
Bleed we all do
Bliss we all wish too
Sure as the sky is blue
Be not bohemian
Find a faith my friend and something to believe in
And just BE.

In honor of Dr. King, and all that died to be.
