Across Fields of Water

by Hakim

The negative space of love…
Cut me out and color what is not there blue
Cut you out and replace my heart
The air around us is light and sweet
The world turns
So we think
I think its space turning around us
Shifting its weight
Stars collide
Systems are born
Negative space fills them
Or does it fill space
I dream of such a place
Where the buildings are made of gold
Glass of diamonds
And a simple gray pond pebble is precious
People dive off cliffs
Risk life and limb
To swim to the bottom of lakes
And grasp a hand full of them
(Skeet, skeet, skeet)
Across fields of water
The breeze whistling through the leaves
Reminds me of a giggle from my daughter
Soft and pure
I cut out the sky
And fill it with honey
Bumble Bees are in Heaven
The negative space that fills love
Is
You
