Star By Star, They Fell

by Nick Grooms

smile beautifully

cheek to cheek

with symbiotic response

to detail with

striking resemblance

to the moves

my eyes make

attempting to dance with yours

be complete

with the tongue slung

poetic ethic

pathetic

how i can breathe

letting lungs

believe

its for this moment

this second

as stars fall

from your face

and land

in my heart

wishing i could hold

your smile

in my hands

knowing

the possibilty

would slip

through my fingers

with given chance

our eyes will dance

acting casual

pretending

i'm not nervous

talking

for hours on end

about nothing

hoping we

become something

being patient

letting the days

count me down

rather than counting

them back

so much dark

ensures

even dawn will crack

under pressure

dramatic fiction

compliments

continue to fill

my diction

being one with

the waiting game

writing

a voice

for each letter

in your name

sincere

amazing

radiant

adorable

honest

an obvious quote

of higher promise

i'm better now at

writing lectures

facing

decisions

drastic like

a poem of improvision

like pen

meeting paper

impromptu

writing of the stars

falling from your face
