Slavery No More, But Racism Still Exists

by SistaTrudy66

The year 1850
Ancestors picked cotton from 8 to 16 hours a day
Their life-style they had to waiver
little or no time for leisure

Whites owning slaves for a profit?
But this crime, they would never admit
So, to ease the pain, slaves sang a song

"Black preachers steal away in the night
Talks to his people while the master's not in sight
Master say "obey his rules
but, won't give us decent schools
Kings and Queens is what we used to be
before we were taken to this strange country."

The year 1960
Many blacks still livin in proverty
after whites denied our humanity
Can you blame black panthers
for having so much hostility?
