Ride On, King Jesus! (A Sonnet)

by Marilyn Ferrell

Ride on, King Jesus! Hosana highest!
For this moment, we stand, pensive and meek,
Waited far too long, our spirits' restless,
The holy gates aligned with pearls, we do seek.
Lead battles mightily, our pilgrim's prize,
We will not be hindered by bloody bows,
Zealous in duty, we confer our lives,
Lord, save our souls' against the evil wiles.
Lion of Judah, O' the King of kings,
Atonement for sinners is Your glory,
You broken body bids new beginnings,
Laid down all, devoid of hesitancy.
Low and soft, awaiting the trumpet sound,
Your call to saints, we will be homeward bound.
