Don’t Want to Forget

by Sherrell Faythe

Don’t want to forget this place
It’s October and it has been winter in here since last September
Changes in the season-leaves blown away in putrid air
Time spent trying to change instead of changing to try
Too proud until now
Had to get here
Where the floors are black and the walls are white
in every room except one (brown in there)
Had to rest peacefully on a pillow top pallet to truly see -
Having not enough room but just enough space
Grace
Seeing one loaf of bread and one pot serve second helpings
Blessed
