They found Shirley Jenkins today
Her body had lain dead three days in a crack house.
It didn't make the television news, 
or the front page in the newspaper.
Perhaps you didn't hear about it
She wasn't Judge of the Supreme Court 
Or a famous actor for that matter.
But she was somebody's daughter, or someone's niece
or even somebody's granddaughter
Or  maybe 
she may have even been someone's friend
