Remember The Touch Of Kindness

by Brother DeBuff

We met in words
That been heard before
We speak of those to come
Word met before
Sunrise with sleep in eyes
Smile across face
Paint by life
Hear them people
Refusing to be
Clapping hand
Song singing feet keep time
Drumming who are you
Hear for real we be coming
Back for more you can hurt us
Skin black like rich soil
Chant your and their stories
As oldest ancestor do
Remember who you be
Then what you do
Will equal you and in walk
while
Your talk tell of greatness
Her song was his song
As would be struggled always
To lighten yoke yesterday
Who stand this day clean light
To see what a head
To go to no end
Get up
Time to be up
Children hear the bird song
That be your
All way from land
In where
Our spirit dwell by cooling
water
Dance we must in the soul
In our heaven
Can our awaken rock the
World
Change the foundations
Joy for mother son’s
Respect father daughters
We rise in unity
As touch tomorrow journey
No rest until we arrive
