D.B. | Cox |
Originally from a small town in South Carolina, D.B. Cox grew up in a Southern Baptist children’s home. In an
escape attempt, at the age of six, hopped a freight train with a friend, and rode from Greenwood, S.C. to Augusta, GA
(it seemed like a long way then).
At the age of 14, picked up the guitar, and a couple of years later played his first paying job with a band. Once he discovered
that someone would actually pay him, to do what he would gladly do for nothing, he was sold on rock & roll.
After a 4 year stint, with the Marines in the 60s’, spent a few years in the southeast playing whatever jobs he could get in clubs
and bars. In 1978, moved to Boston to attend the Berklee School of Music. Eventually found the blues circuit in New England, and
since then, has played the music he loves with some good bands, in a lot of places.
The blues musician and poet enjoys writing poetry for the same reason he loves playing the guitar; a way to communicate how he feels, at a given time,
on a given day. He resides in Watertown, Massachusetts.
