African Beauty

by Darcell Dann

Eyes, rich like African soil,
Cheeks prominent and defined
Lips inviting, but only to those who notice,
Dimples that reflect perfection when enjoined with a smile.

Your ambiance is Power softly-lined with compassion
Your sound is Desire intertwined with seduction.

Mental ecstasy you bring when we’re engrossed in conversation, damn
How you make my juices sway,
like the waves of an ocean on a soft-breeze day.
I’m quite astounded by the depths of your mind,
The way you relate to my soul as your rivers of words flow.

My corporate hip-hop brotha whose gifted on many heights,
Can you calm my stormy whether, can you uplift my lonely nites.

The Book says gifts comes without repentance,
but for your gifts you should repent,
For sins do I commit when I’m spelled by your gifts.

My African beauty, so prominent and defined
By your gifts am I bound, by your power I am refined.
