being black
being tall
being fat
in a world that thrives 
on deception
faulty perception
that entrap the mind
be all that THEY want you to be
none of which is really me
degrees in this 
degrees in that
ego's always ready to attack
striving to be somebody
when I'm already somebody - greater
stress and strain
on my brain
always at odds
with the "right" and "wrong" of things
confused
because I'm forced to live a lie
when standing in the flame
become ONE with fire
because you can only share
what you have within
so don't pretend
CONTROL of self
being TRUE to self
is my FIRST DUTY to me
and it has SET ME FREE
