You appear to be certain
but you're really unsure.
You appear to be confident
but you're really insecure.
You appear to be nonchalant
but you're really concerned.
You appear to know it all
but you know you need to learn.
You appear to be politically correct
but really deep within,
You view me as inferior
because of the color of my skin.
You pretend to be color blind
but to me it's an amazing fact,
How quickly your sight returns
when your competitor is someone Black.
You pretend the playing field is level.
As long as YOU are on top.
But then when I defeat you,
all pretending stops.
You do whatever makes you feel better:
Complain, Appeal, Protest
Anything but recognize that
Maybe I'm just the best.
I'm aware of the games you play,
So, I never let down my guard.
I understand that without your little facade
Life for you would be too hard.
So I look right past the person
You APPEAR to be
And face the fact you try hard to hide;
You're a racist; intimidated by me.
