Exactly how I feel
But honesty is the best policy
So I have to keep it real.

You keep asking me to answer the questions,
Why can’t you be the one?
Why is it every time you think you’re close,

Well, I’ve been thinking about the answers
And all that I can say
Is I like you a lot as a friend
But I don’t love you in “that way”.

If you’re looking for a woman,
To be more than your friend,
I can’t be that person
So here’s what I recommend:

Find someone who will love you
In the way that you require
Someone who’ll give you the attention
You so desperately desire.

I’m not trying to hurt your feelings
And I hope you understand
I will always be your friend
But I don’t consider you “my man”.

You have done so much for me
And I appreciate the things you do
That’s why you deserve someone 
Who is totally in love with you.

To settle for me would be foolish
A price you shouldn’t have to pay
No more games; I’m making it plain
I don’t love you in “that way”.
