Rainbow Shadow Bow

by Christa A Smith

I reached out and touched a rainbow
No silly, not with my hands but my heart
Right away it made me smile playfully
For a moment I wondered about that gold
Then I noticed the rainbows shadow bow
It's color's dimly demanding attention
Gazing in amazement I forgot the gold
Then began to wonder about my shadow
Does my true character demand attention?
To recognize shadows of my life important
I ponder the questions leading to others
Peaking over my shoulder for one last glance
I gave thanks to the rainbow and its shadow
Seeing beauty even in darkness is uplifting
