Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Nappiness

by Charles Fox Jr.

I hold these truths to be self evident
That all men are not created equal
For example
Look at the plight of the "black" people
We were promised 40 acres
Plus exactly one mule
Did they expect us to believe that?
Must have taken us for a fool
While we were held in captivity
They forced upon us their ideas of Nativity
The so-called "forefathers" of this nation
Failed to realize this deviation
Was it the "negro's" fate to be broken?
His dignity stripped from his soul
His pride hung out and left to die
but please don't ask why
Ask how
Or ask when
When will we obtain the equality
That malcolm, Marcus, and Martin each perished for
Embraced the reaper for
Went silently into the night
Never?
Well, we might
Who knows?
All we can do is hope and pray
Steadily enduring the hate
Every single day
Meanwhile, trying to find happiness
For this
The pursuit of life, liberty, and nappiness.
