My soul and me relived, those times that got us by
Decided no failures would detract us from our dreams
Eyes watched as our future danced like glorious beams

She dipped and bobbed, she shuffled and leapt
Our future, how she danced, even as she wept
Looking deep into our past, we learned from our mistakes
Days we stumbled through, nights when were awake

My soul and I, we bonded, realizing our full potential
From our failures we had learned, they really were essential
The loss has fallen, we’ve discarded it along the way
Our past directs our future, along the path God has paved.
