A 'Barry White' Song

by Cindy Chaffold

He cuddles up next to me
He lays his head of silk
On my shoulder
And looks lovingly
Into my eyes

I am smitten with him
I think maybe in love
As I gaze into his eyes
Green
The color of grass

Wordlessly we lay
With no cares of the day
Thinking of napping
As sleep creeps
Into our embrace

Then I hear his voice
Through the haze
Of approaching slumber
Bass and low
Like Barry White

I am lulled to sleep
With dreams so sweet
Of meadows of flowers
With soft breezes
All this from his soft low song

Bear Kitty
Purring…
    As we both
	   Slip away
		   Catnapping
