I wrote this poem in memory of my friend Willemina...
She died tragically on 2/24/03 from a car accident
caused by a drunk driver.



So far yet so close/
Never once touched the surface of your skin yet I feel your spirit/
Your flesh is gone yet your words immortal/
Earth has never produced a being such as yourself/
Heaven has never known an angel so true/
You’ve lifted me up in my time of need/
Shown me a phoenix risen from the ashes/
True inspiration/
Always an open mind and never an empty heart/
Gone but not forgotten/
A sun ray amongst stormy clouds/
May your love and warmth rain from the heavens
and nourish the infertile soil of this tainted earth/
The world hungers for you kind of love/
The kind that heals/
The kind that soothes/
Unconditional/
A friend to most, a sister to all/
Your memory remains within our minds/
Your soul within our hearts/
Hand in hand with God may your love shine down on us.../
Shine down and show us the way to heaven...
