If I Didn't Poet |
by Erika Burt |
I would be sign words to the deaf Be Braille to the blind A mime to the crowd or even pantomime Give clues with my lashes Whistle wonders in disguise Sigh serenades or Tap it out on stage Play the flute or the lyre String a violin Dance to a song like I'm floating in the wind Perhaps I would hum A myriad of melodies so sweet Draw words to love songs From deep within me All that so I could show it For you my dear If I didn't poet |
