Too Precious

by Tanya Carpenter

Too precious to be called gold,
Too simple to be called silver.
She was a simple thing,
but noone understood.
They thought all she wanted
were diamonds and fancy gold rings.
But there was more to her then anyone could imagine.
Its just that noone took the time to look deep within.
They say, she was too precious to be called gold,
and too simple to be called silver.
She was always the star,
for she lite up the room, bypassing everyone by far.
She was the dancin' princess.
That was quite simple, and tried to stay out of lifes mess.
She was called a master piece,
and of course, this did not bother her, not at by the least.
Cause she knew this deep in her heart,
she knew that right from the start.
She was too precious to be called gold,
and too simple to be called silver.
She wanted to smile,
without being fake.
She wanted to love,
without making any mistakes.
She wanted to everyone to know
that she was more than beautiful woman,
but that she was strong, intelligent,
and willing to take a stand.
She wanted the most,
without having to brag or to boast.
She wanted the sun to shine,
but most importantly...
she wanted to be loved and be treated like one of a kind.
They say, she was too precious to be called gold,
and too simple to be called silver.
But all she wanted was someone to realize
that she was far too simple to be called gold,
and far too precious to be called silver!
