My Brothers ans Sisters hold on to Gods unchanging hand
Let him guide us as a people into the new promise land
See the the light when jesus cracks the sky
at that moment he'll wipe the tears in your eyes
All the injustices we have suffered in America forced to take on a new identity
rivers of blood cry out from the unmarked grave
I died for no other reason except being a slave
Don't forget the price that was paid to give you that African American name
Don't close your eyes and walk away as if this has not happend
Remember our ancestor's blood paid the price for us to enjoy the freedom we have
Are we really free at all or are we trapped because we don't know about ourselves
Look down your generational line see how far you can trace back
You will be suprised that it really has not been that long
Do you know who you really are? It's ok now is good time to try
Open your eyes look deeper inside God gave great thought creating you in his image
Generation to generation despite our gain we will continue to experience pain
Until we come face to face with the truth and understand
we are descendants from Africa disconnected from our past
Our great great great ancestors forced to take the slave masters task
