What Is It About My Beautiful Black Skin

by 1st Poet

Created from the soil of the earth
"God" created me a reflection of himself
Dark brown, light brown, coffee brown, Tan
Skin soft as cotton, sweet as honey dew melon
Yes I’m proud to be part of the human race
Created by “God” to submit to his will and purpose
I am called to great things in the world
Who shall deny me this right because I reflect that of soil
God does not make mistakes I am perfectly made in his image
Hair like wool, feet like brass, eyes of an eagle, and strength of an Lion
"God" why do some say I’m cursed when you my Lord
Has called me blessed made in the image of yourself
