Wedding Day

by Cam Rose

Standing there adorned in diamonds, white lace and pearls
My hair draped back pressed and curled
Exotic white flower scented the air
As snow white candles illuminated the room everywhere

A satin white runner stretch down the center aisle
It looked like a cloud floating for a mile
As pure white rose pedals scattered about from beginning to end
A tall handsome brother stood there with four other men

Standing there adorned in diamonds, white lace and pearls
My shoes are white satin and so are my girls'
Each pew trimmed with a bouquet of white flowers hanging to the floor
Embellished white satin ribbons were on the door

As the music from the harp, strings and horns softly fade
The medley of the piano sweetly played
My heart was beating so fast and my hands were trembling too
But my eyes focused on my man and I was ready for what I came to do

He's standing there with a glistening white smile
As he stares at me at the other end of the aisle
In his designer black tux accenting his smooth caramel brown skin
I am thinking this man will be my lover as well as my friend

I am standing next to him now with my eyes full of tears
We exchange rings and our vows we wrote denouncing all fears
The preacher introduce us as the new husband and wife
My wedding day was so perfect, now I can began the rest of my life
