Faux Pas

by Robin M. Butts

In the 21st century, the flagrancy that we still face
We are depicted as a subspecies of the human race..
That violence is an ascribed gene at birth
This is just another futile attempt to intimidate our self worth...
It is perpetuated that loving ourselves do not run through our blood
Embedded self hate over time makes us shed our own blood...
We have to ascend and allow the stigma to eradicate
And stop allowing others to seal our fate..
The atrocities that has been imposed on us should be viewed as sacrilege
Knowing the fact that my man was crafted from the Creator's image..
I am a product of that Divine transmigration into the flesh..
That makes me proud of who I am
Because..
I embody the genes of nothing less than the best...
