Compromise

by Brown-Eyed Girl

How much should you compromise?
They stare you down with hateful eyes,
For choosing what is right and wise.
Remove you from their common ties,
Pollute you air with blackened lies.
If it were you, that they despise,
Would you ignore, your heart’s strong cries?
And as your flowing spirit dries,
Sit back while someone different tries.
You wear indifference’s disguise,
And slowly feel your soul’s demise.
When all around you loving dies,
How much will you compromise?
