To All the Women in My Life

by Darrell Brevard

To all the women in my life
Past and present
You gave me love
I will always cherish
You gave me strenth
To help me make it through the day
I was young and immature
In every way
I couldn’t see
Couldn’t understand
The power
That i had i my hand
The power of being loved
And trusted so dear
I didn’t appreciate it
And it dissappeared
I look back
And think of what i did
I can’t blame no one for my mistakes
On being a kid
When i look back
To see what i done wrong
The faces the memories
Keep me going along
Now that i am a man
I have no excuses
But to be a better man
And appreciate the love i abused
You willonly see your mistakes
As you grow and mature
How to love and be loved
Until your heart endures
I will teach my son
And hope he will see
The pain i caused
I must set free
Listen my ladies
I hope you understand
I did wrong things to you
Thinking i was man
I woke up
And saw what i had done
I can’t undo the past
My new life has begun
