Fear or Faith?

by Victoria Barklee

Will slap you in the face
Ask is this your place
Will lay you on your back
Wondering of the next attack
Will distort your vision
Drained of ambition like a deep incision
Will knock you to the ground
Dare you to leap for the crown
Will put you on your knees
Begging Lord, help me, please

Will give you hope for tomorrow
That's yours and not borrowed
Will sprinkle you with rain
To soar like the wild grain
Will replace the cries of a beagle
Mount you on wings of an eagle
Will nourish this ole being
Echoing a new song to sing
Will open a new book
I can do this, let me take another look
