Tribute To Mutabaruka

by Mumina Bint As-Sunni

Jamaican born prince and poet
born of a queen and raised in the yard
where life's struggles proved incredibly
hard
Innatedly gifted and talented
widows'-peak sage
ventering forth by night
enlightened by day
receiver of glorious wisdom
or so Jah say
Footprints indelibly embedded deep in the sand
said to be those of a mighty Rastaman

Barefoot laureate and scholar of Jah
ever reflecting the ominpotence of
The Most high and of His irations
The sea, the sun, the moon, the stars
In contemplation of mans' freedom
Amid dire rumors of War
revolutionary spirit
Black Jesus
Reincarnated, redeemed, revered and emanated
prophesizing that our people will one day be self-
emancipated
Footprints indelibly embedded deep in the sand
said to be those of a mighty Rastaman

Pure Black African spirit
As elusive as a black butterfly
Monarch
trodding the four corners of the earth
internalizing the anguish of the sufferah
serenely and supremely blessed and guided by
Jah
The Invisible Entity, Unseen Host
metaphysically enshrined
It is Jah and Jah alone who has made you
out of the sublime
Bard of the sufferah and to all of mankind
Footprints indelibly embedded deep in the sand
said to be those of a might Rastaman
