Black Is Beauty

by George Kofi Sukah Anyidoho

Very beautiful and unique
but they spit on me
All they say is:
as dirty as black
Negro race, you slaves, you dirty creatures
the days of slavery
Racism, Racism
in our very native land
the greatest heap of dangerous racists
I hate you says the black
I hate you says the Ashantis
so is the Ewes and the Gas
Tribal war
Racism is enmity
the destruction of the mind
the cancer of war
the pain of regret
no defense, no security for us,
no escape through the laws of cultures, cuistoms,
history, language, religion, colour
Racism, a sin and a suffering of the world,
of the races, of you and of me
Racism has filled our graves with bones.
