This Is My Dream

by Anwar Aswad Amir

That one day there will be no more mothers crying
that one day the guns will stop firing
that one day here will be no more killing of our youths in the streets
that one day there will be no more homeless people
T hat one day hungry people will again have food to eat

That one day we stop the high ranking and low ranking
that one day we change our way of thinking
that one day there will be classification
that one day they will look upon you and not see skin pigmentation
and that one day people will be free of dope
and that one day they will again get back their hope
that one day the fathers will respect the mothers
that one day again mothers will give respect to the fathers
that one day we will respect our mothers and fathers
and one day the mothers and fathers will respect their sons and daughters
That one day we can save the next generation
That one day there will be no wars among the nations
That one day we deal with the truth and make the right sacrifice
On that day we can save the children life

Let's start to love one, another.
Please! Let the freedom bell ring for all person.
Regardless of race creed or color.
Like jesus, he paid the ultimate price.
Let's make King's day a permanent day in our life

Jesus and Martin Luther, both spoke about the truth and the light.
They told you about love and respect and you know their sacrifice.
That one day you will have a dream and wake up to realize.
It's such a small price to pay for mutual, respect with no regrets.
That one day the folly and madness will stop.
That one day we all will live their dream’s
and reach the mountain top!
That one day your dream will become my dream and their dream.
“Happy birthday” Dr. Martin Luther King.
