Baby's Father

by Anwar Aswad Amir

Hungry children

Born from a night of delight.

Walking down our streets,

Being abused and misused

By the people they meet.

Boy meets a girl, he enters her world.

Boy wants a hug, he gets it from the girl.

Now drive in movie, hotel, motel and corner bars.

Sometimes in the rear seat of cars.

A baby born from a night of delight.

Tell the children the truth!

When in comes the morning light.

They will not vanish from sight.

Tell him if he doesn't want to be a baby's father.

Don't kiss the young lady.

That's the only way to make a baby!

It's the only way to make her stomach stick out.

It's the only way to make her brussels sprout.

I gotta tell the youths.

I gotta tell them the truths.

We got to help one.

Until our work is done.

If you don't want to be a baby's father

Don't kiss the young lady.

That's the only way to make a baby.

Because if the girl doesn't kiss you

The blood won't flow.

The same is with a seed; if you don't plant it

The seed can't grow.

Never play in the water....

If you don't want to be a baby's father
