Lean On Me

by Angela Brown

Lean on me
We as a nation of races
of people together
thorugh faith and in love
ebracing God
Through every corner of the world
911 a smoking gun of jealousy
that drove fear in our values
unchained unchanged
that would not abuse our character
a window of darkness
sparing with envy
fallen truth, a second thought
for God is the judge
A rod iron of freedom we stand
in unity, in certainty
of peace, hope and strength
In homage, in sacrifice, in silence
we pray for what was lost
for the lives lost
In our heart, in our minds
in our thoughts
will not be forgotten
Let America stand as a caregiver of hope
Unchained in its welfare
to advocate love
