I Rise In The Name Of The Nubian Queen

by Jacqueline Amos

I am the Black Women of the Universe

There is no need for validation

I am the ancestors daughter

I am the blackberry wine sweet and un-cut

I felt the pain of civilization

I sing no victim song

I am the eyes that my king may see

The light that he may lead

The shoulder that he may cry

And the wings that he may fly

There is no victim where I lay

I am the inheratance from God

The incubator of my kings dreams

Cry no more for me

I hold the key to my kings history

I am the legacy of his dreams

I walk in honor as I wear his name

Rise up while you can

There is no validation for the ignorance of some men

Where my kings name well

There will be no tarnish where I drwell

Don't cry for me

I am the desendants of Kings and Queens
