In the Eyes Of A Prostitiute

by Stephanie Ambrose

I’m looking in the eyes of a prostitute
She is destitute
I see her desperation, her humiliation
I see the agony in her eyes
The pain she is bearing
No one caring... for her
She is all alone,
forced to fend for herself
Not realizing her worth
A gift from God at birth
Minimum wage is not enough, too make it alone is just too rough.
A pimp uses, her abuses her
It amuses.... him.
Desperate for love
Looking in all the wrong places
Trying to fulfill a void
Trying to fill the empty spaces inside her
heart, in her mind, & in her soul.
She Cry’s out
no one can hear her
So she thinks….
Someone has been listening
Some has been watching waiting for her to call
His name
Jesus is the name higher than any other
He is your mother, your brother, & even your lover.
She called
He answered
Now she is still here.
She dries the tears from her eyes
And wipes the stains from her pocket mirror
Now she see’s life just a little clearer.
